How to Create a New Habit! - Don't Break the Chain: Part Two

Part two of starting a new habit. Watch this short video to learn more.

As a new season begins and routines shift, it is a great time to return to habits you have been wanting to build.

Is there something healthy you want to start again?

  • Walking

  • Working out

  • Eating with more intention

  • Meditating

  • Journaling

  • Drinking more water

  • Creating a better morning routine

Starting a new habit is not always easy. Staying with it takes practice, patience, and a little encouragement along the way.

One of my favorite tools for building a new habit is a habit tracker.

The idea is simple. Each day you complete your habit, you mark it with a check. After a few days, those checkmarks begin to form a chain.

Once you see the chain growing, you start to feel motivated to keep it going. One small checkmark becomes one small win. Then those small wins begin to build momentum.

James Clear talks about this idea in Atomic Habits. He shares the story of Jerry Seinfeld, who marked his calendar each day he wrote a joke. Over time, the goal became simple. Do not break the chain.

I love this because it reminds us that progress does not have to be complicated.

Sometimes growth looks like showing up again today.

Not perfect.
Not all at once.
Not forever.

Just today.

What habit would you like to start or restart?

For me, I am starting with walking every day again.

Remember, when you change your mindset, you change your life, and you find more joy.
