Finding Gratitude in the Little Moments
Finding Gratitude in the Small Things
One thing I love to do is help people look at life through a small shift in focus.
When we think of gratitude, we often think of the big things. The good memories. The people we love. The places we cherish. The moments we never want to forget.
But life gets complicated.
Sometimes the same people, places, and situations we love also bring stress, worry, or pain. When life feels heavy, gratitude starts to feel far away. We look around and struggle to see anything good.
This is where a small shift matters.
Gratitude is not only found in the big, obvious moments. It is also found in the tiny, ordinary, easy-to-miss places.
A warm cup of coffee.
A kind text.
A quiet morning.
A deep breath.
A laugh at the right time.
A moment of peace in the middle of a hard day.
When we pause long enough to notice, we begin to see life from a different angle.
We begin to notice the moments between the chaos, the sadness, the stress, and the unknown. Small moments where peace still exists. Love still shows up. Laughter still breaks through. Joy still finds a way in.
I once read, “If you have to move ten inches from where you are to be happy, you will never be happy.”
Joy is not only waiting somewhere ahead.
Joy is here.
Gratitude is here.
The small things are here.
Living with a gratitude filter is a daily practice. It begins with noticing what is already present, even in the middle of an imperfect day.
